"The Medial Woman is a representation of the strong-sighted and deep-hearted self who lives simultaneously in our conventional, daytime domain & the dark, the hidden realm of potential and the Soul..." ~ Clarissa Pinkola Estes
The Medial Woman's Importance to Writers

Working With the Medial Woman on the Retreat: Her Role Is Two-Fold:
As she guides much of the creativity and ritual aspects of the retreat, Medial Woman tells us to trust our instinctual knowing. She offers us her unwavering belief that imagination and intuition will not fail us even when the voices of family, friends and society buzz in our head and insist otherwise. “I have always been with you," she says. "Walk with me. Let my knowing, which is the knowing of your deepest self, be the light that guides your writing and your life. Be free! Do not stop yourself from being the writer you yearned to be even before you were born."
During the daily writing workshops when we focus on our characters, stories and the fiction writing process, the Medial Woman might just give you some great new images, characters, and storylines! You'll feel braver when called to forge into new landscapes, new kinds of writing. You will definitely be surprised by how the Medial Woman in you changes your writing!

"Doing the non-writing activities were a struggle at first. I worried about not having enough time to write. But I now love my journal and my mask. I feel like they are me. Somewhere in the middle of the week, I stopped worrying about having time to write because I saw what I was writing was so much better because of all the other things we do. Thank you for this." ~Rebecca Miller
